3D project is finally done. And I'm actually really proud of it. So proud that I'll put it on my DA and completely mess up my gallery continuity.

You do 3D too? :o I have to admit that I never had much interest in 3D artwork- the way 3D artwork is created sounds rather difficult, and I never much liked the way 3D artwork looks. That said, 3D modeling is important for video games and special effects. By the way, what is a hot bap, and why is Bessie trying sell them? =P

To be honest I'm not a massive fan of 3D either. It's awkward but it can be pretty satisfying to look at once it's done, if the project is interesting.

Baps are burger buns in the UK, but also a crude term for boobs. I'm so hilarious.

I got to dislike 3D cause I love the little drawings that illustrate classic scientific papers on rocket propulsion. I've found cute illustrations, serious minded sketches, and even cartoons in such papers from the 1960s. Now every paper has the same clunky 3D renderings, and no pen and ink illustrations. :( It is kind of sad, really. This is what they looked like back then-[link] and [link] And this is a modern paper. [link] Argh. It makes my eyes hurt.

Baps? Now, I know one more crude term for boobs- learn something everyday, I guess. ^_^ Did your instructor catch the crude joke? :)

*Incidentally, a photon rocket is a form of idealized rocket propulsion in which the entire fuel mass is converted into photons, and the radiation pressure used to push the ship. The two papers are somewhat in disagreement over the practicality of the notion. =P

I don't think you've linked the right stuff, but I get what you mean. I love little illustrations, and 3D can look a bit rubbish if not done well.

And yes, my instructor did. She enjoyed it.

Well, as something of a rocketry-and-astronautics geek, I love little illustrations and well-drawn space art, but nowadays it seems that any modern paper or publication only has rubbishy 3D modeling work. Another example (non-technical) is here- [link]. Almost all the artists featured work in 3D, and only Winchell shows any cute illustrations. I think this has more to do with what artists were featured, though. Plenty of artists draw spaceships. :P Only, most of the people obsessed with how "realistic" everything is clearly have NO drawing ability. ^^
